And I wanted it to show all the joy of a child with all the love of a grandmother....This picture just tells it all!!

Stepping Into Erin's Garden
Stepping Into Erin's Garden and is a colorful place where a child will be able to step
and use this stool to reach that which is higher than she!! My hopes for these stools
is that they stay with the child forever....As a reminder that things are never beyond
our reach....Blessings to Erin...

black acrylic paint...and then went to town with layers of metallic...blue, purple, green, red, copper, bronze and gold...I ripped an oriental paper and altered it on all the curved moldings..
and then went over it with a bronze wash...I placed ribbon around all the string that holds the bamboo together. It reminds me of a pagoda now...It has been sealed several times, first with a matte finish and then with a gloss finish....I decided on the tassels just to give it a punch...

All the backs look exactly the same as the first ones...easy does it...my
time is being spent on the top of the page...Christie did not want any of
the backs to be white...so with my business card cut up and my flying
heart(which goes on every piece I do usually) I do not have to think to much
when it comes to the back....press here to see the post with the backs on it.

It's a beginning!! Skinny Book Pages
BACK
When I picked up my copy of Cloth Paper Scissors there was an article in there by Chrysti Hydeck on how to make Skinny Book Pages....This called to me...the pages are 4 inches by 8 inches...And I thought ... I WOULD LIKE TO DO THAT!! (hey, whats one more thing on the list?!?!) Anyhow, my friend, Nici told me about the challenge that Chrysti put out on her new site...So...I SIGNED UP...Yes, 26 pages need to be complete, and I will get a book back (assembled and bound by Chrysti) Once I got past the FEAR of NOT GOOD ENOUGH, I started my pages by making sheets of hand painted and designed paper (120 lb watercolor paper) and cut them out...3 skinny book pages to each sheet I made...So this is the first sheet which I did in hues of orange, yellow and red...raked some plaster over it and altered it with small art that I drew..painted and then cut out...I like the process and will continue to do at least 2 every day so that they will be done before the deadline!! (well, hopefully!!) I happen to be an 11th hour girl, but this project needs a little more time because it is a new process for me!!

SHAMAN BARBIE/ Altered Barbie
SHAMAN BARBIE
Her perfect body structure…
She could be just about anything, as long
As the fashion let her.
But alas, those days did come to an end,
Both with age and wisdom,
For nothing is as perfect as it seems
It has to come from within you.
So here is Barbie in transformation…
A Shaman for all women…
To stimulate, motivate, and electrify
With magic and delight,
She now inspires each of us
to be true unto our self.

Bench for Auction!
MAGICAL GARDEN BENCH
PHEW! I finally finished the bench for our local breast cancer coalition charity auction. This started out as raw wood that needed to be sanded, put together, primed and then painted! It has been sealed with a waterproof sealer and the several coats of wax applied. Truly a labor of love.... My sister, Nancy, made the beautiful silk pillows that are on the bench. I decided in the beginning of this project that I would dedicate it to someone and this is what I wrote:
I dedicate this bench to, JoAnna Pierotti, who recently finished her chemo treatment for breast cancer. JoAnna has been a strong warrior through this challenge in her life. She has maintained her beauty, her sense of humor, her love of life, and her art. She is an Amazing woman who continues to grow and discover things about herself. She lives in
This auction was for invited artists and I am PROUD to be part of this.... It is an amazing thing when you can use your art to help raise money for not for profit organizations and continue to help women's issues at the same time! Here is a hearts up for all those fighting the good fight!
May you also find a way that you can help in your community!
Artfully Yours,
Pattie
Some of the inspiration for this bench came from this poem:
There is a garden in every childhood
An enchanted place where colors are brighter,
The air is softer,
And the morning more fragrant then ever again.

Clocks......
LET THE SUN SHINE...
This clock started out just as a plain piece of wood...Now it is transformed into a bright sunshine with copper rays and pendulum .... I am so loving it!!
STANDING WATCH...
This clock has been totally revamped from a piece of wood, with an added final and decorative wings...GREAT FUN to design!!
TIME FLIES....
Kool Klox in a Box...This clock is totally made out of a cardboard box! The elements of the clock were painted on paper then cut out and altered onto the box..small final and feet to complete it!
Bee's Chair....
This is the last piece to go out for the OUT OF THE BLUE SWAP and is going to my friend Deb. (nickname: Bee...Bae or Bae-BEE!!) This piece took a little longer because I actually cross stitched the little pillow that adorns the seat!! This is Bee's Bee Happy Chair!! It has lots of inspirational messages on it...Bee creative,
Bee silly...Bee Strong..Bee True..Bee Busy...A star to direct her and a butterfly to carry her dreams on its wings!! It also comes with a little poem:
BEE'S CHAIR
If the day is going bad...
And things aren't working out...
Gaze upon this little chair
For inspiration to sprout.
There is happiness, belief
and creativity
And strength and just a
little silly...
For at the end of the day
What matters the most
Is that you gave your best
And never lost hope!!
