This is the last piece to go out for the OUT OF THE BLUE SWAP and is going to my friend Deb. (nickname: Bee...Bae or Bae-BEE!!) This piece took a little longer because I actually cross stitched the little pillow that adorns the seat!! This is Bee's Bee Happy Chair!! It has lots of inspirational messages on it...Bee creative,
Bee silly...Bee Strong..Bee True..Bee Busy...A star to direct her and a butterfly to carry her dreams on its wings!! It also comes with a little poem:
If the day is going bad...
And things aren't working out...
Gaze upon this little chair
For inspiration to sprout.
There is happiness, belief
And strength and just a
For at the end of the day
What matters the most
Is that you gave your best
And never lost hope!!
FINISHED!!!!! This is a canister set that was given to me by a client to resurface for her kitchen!! She has a fish theme in the kitchen and gave me a few fish for a color pallet...Anyhow, when my mind wrapped around these cannisters, this is what it saw...underwater!! I love the coloring of this set!! Today I finished the final process to complete this project...They will need a day to cure and then back to the client and back to her kitchen....They don't even look like the same cannisters anymore do they?!? I love this type of project, given freedom by the client to create whatever comes to my minds eye! Custom work needs to be a trust between the artist and the client...and the client in this case had just that!! That makes working so much easier!! Although my photos still need to be perfected, these pieces are a various background shade of teals, turquoise, greens...It is just so pleasing to the eye!!
I have a friend, Jaime, who lives in Atlanta...I met her 2 years ago at a retreat! We have been in classes together on line since then, and I have coached her...but no matter what comes, what goes, time, space, silence ... whatever she always seems to pop into my mind at the strangest moments!! Connecting with me...so this is a little giftie for Jaime on her BIRTHDAY! Stop by and wish her a happy one on her site!! Remember Jaime that there is always some moment in the day to STOP and listen to the sweet song of the bird!
So this is what I do!! I saw these tin elements about 6 years ago and bought all that I could get my hands on...I thought I sold them all but when I moved my studio back into my home I must of packed a few away!! So when cleaning I found a couple of them. This is the MAGICAL MANGO KITTY....from start to finish!! This piece is for my friend Cheryl that I am swapping for a beautiful set of gratitude beads...Oh I can hardly wait to get Cheryl's reaction...So this is what I do, this is why I consider myself a surface designer...GIVE ME A SURFACE!!! Is this kitty not both whimsical but also very magical???... I had a BLAST painting and embellishing it!!
