t-shirt designs

While looking for challenges I decided to do some t-shirts! The challenge here was to use stencils and letters...Rather than just do that all over the shirt, I decided to put my spin on it!! LOL ...Like I always do! So, I painted some canvas, cut it out, stenciled words and sewed them all on by hand...added some beads...and there you have it!! One of a kind ART t-shirts!!
So much fun to do and you get a wearable piece of art afterwards. Now, what more could a girl ask for?!?!?

Fish Fly...

I posted this on my other site, but really it belongs here...I will post again when I frame it and hopefully the lighting will be better...The shadow on the left side makes it look dark, but it really isn't!! The weather is getting better here so I should be able to take it outside and photograph it.
I think the frame will be an orange yellow....

Ready to Fly...

Here are a few pictures of other things that I have finished and now are ready to fly! One is a chunky book swap that I am doing with one other special woman!! I found these great Angel books at the dollar store (my all time favorite place!!) and knew just the person to make this affirmation Angel book with...I am so excited....This is my opening page and I will post the progression of her and my friends as we go along! The wings have lots of texture to them, with texture magic...I LOVE this stuff...it dries so fast!! And then as usual mine is mostly painted with a few odds and ends, I also did the back of the book but I will save that for the end!!
The other is an altered painting that I did for someone else.....I do so enjoy altering my own art!
The bubbles in the background are also texture magic and then painted...This piece just makes my heart sing with the possibilities of what is in store for all of us when we truly BELIEVE!

Altered Seed Packets

The completion of another swap....This one had to do with 30 seed packets which were photo copied and made into ATC cards. I hand sewed the flowers and beaded the center, added green leaves and curly fabric coated wire...Added the little charms and the BLOOM on the bottom with brads. On the back I placed a little envelope with all the seeds and that says GROW. I will place each ATC in the packet and then tie it with a ribbon....And off they GO to Colorado where the hostess will swap them out and I will get 30 of them back...It is going to be FUN to see what everyone else does. Again let me state that this is just my second attempt at ATC's and I am not really sure what they are all about, but this was what my creative mind saw when I looked at the package....ENJOY! Oh and don't you just love the glitter!!

Altered Match packs swap!

These are ready to go! Again feeling a little like a fish out of water I altered! BUT I painted too!
So I took the match packs and placed them on different tin elements and went from there...A little plaster, a little paint, a little inspiration! Actually I like these a lot and think I just may do some more of them...I like putting the inspirational affirmations on the front...I am thinking of a few different ways to do them, BUT for ME...the main thing is that I HAD FUN! They worked up easily and the thoughts of what I can do for more is endless! NOW that is a GOOD ART day!

A Place To Bark ....

This is a painting that is now on its way to Tennessee for an auction to benefit A PLACE TO BARK...This is a wonderful woman, named Bernie Berlin, who recues animals with abandon!
You can visit her web site and see the animals that she has UP for adoption at:
http://aplacetobark.com ... Or the auction, which by the way has some pretty well known artists
who have donated pieces at: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZaplace2bark
It is an amazing thing when what you do can touch and help someone who is doing something so wonderful! I am honored to be part of this....BID OFTEN! BID HIGH!!!

Gypsy Doll

This is a paper doll that I made awhile ago, but thought I would share her here! I did her for a magazine, but alas, fear over took me and I did not send her in! So she sits in my studio with her glitter dust, her affirmation cards and reminds me that fear will not get me anywhere, but BELIEVING will!! So perhaps that is what she was all about... Anyhow, she is made out of 4 ply card stock, and is jointed at the arms...Her bodice is torn paper and her dress and hat are cloth. She is painted with acrylic paint, and is adorn with beads, and a small bag of glitter with a wish stone inside, a twisted heart, earrings, and affirmation cards....She holds a small jeweled charm in her hand..Striped legs and red glittery shoes! I still love her!! Hope you enjoy her as much as I do!!

Museum Of Play Sneakers

Have you heard of the Museum of Play? Well, it is located here in Rochester and is part of the Strong Museum...Everyone who works there needs to wear white sneakers. A friend of mine, asked that I take the logo and do her sneakers with the whimsy of it. So here they are!! They are so much fun!! Painting on canvas sneakers can be a bit challenging, but once I got the hang of it, they pulled together. Now wouldn't these sneakers just make your feet happy?!?!

The Elegance of Time

This is a piece that I have completed for an auction for our local Gilda's Club. It started out as a box with a glass insert. I took that out and replaced it with a piece of wood so that I could do the clock face on it...You can open the door and that is where the battery box is...but you could put a trinket inside as there is enough room. This is the 5th year that I am doing this auction, although I did not chair it this year. If you are not familiar with Gilda's Club house it is a safe haven for people who are living with cancer, cancer survivors, and their families. Here they can take art classes, have guest speakers, movie night, sleep overs, a camp for kids and lots of FUN and loving things to do along with support. It is a wonderful and happy place that Gilda Radner wanted to start while she was going thru her cancer treatments. Check it out! They are always looking for people to lend a hand in one form or another...even if it is just to stuff and envelope!!
