Christopher's Step Stool...

I finally finished this step stool...but it took a bit of time to finally take a few photo's of it!
The title of this stool is....BE HAPPY! And it makes me happy just looking at it...It will be
going to Baltimore and I am so excited for this to finally reach its destination... Christopher
won't be using this for a while...but it will be a fine addition to his room till he is ready! I love making items for KIDS, probably because I am a kid at heart! I love the bright colors and the fact that I can make mice red if I want! NOW...on to the next BIG THING!! Furniture is so much fun!! TRY IT...YOU JUST MIGHT LIKE IT!

Altered Couture

I am having a delicious day even with the snow falling outside (mind you I would rather be where the sun is warm and shiny and the beach is before me! Like at Debs house!! LOL) I have just received GREAT news that my altered raincoat and umbrella will be featured in Altered Couture in the May issue! I couldn't be happier!! Altering clothing is a new way for me to expose my art and I am having great fun with it....This is a wonderful community of talented artists and I am honored!! So watch for the magazine in May....I still have to write an 800 word article to go with it...But, I am looking forward to sharing how to do this and add a sense of humor and creativity to that part of the process.....

Step In To The Jungle...

When I asked my, 2 (almost 3...in February ) grandson what he would like on his step stool...
He replied ....well....animals...moma...what else!! LOL...what else indeed!!
So step in to the jungle....which was suppose to be completed for Christmas..(not that there was a lack of presents for the little guy!!) but now will be saved for his birthday! WOW...I am way ahead of the game for that date....COOL!!

This is what it is all about!!

When designing and executing a custom piece...I try just to put myself into the spirit of who the piece is for...This step stool was going to a special little girl from her grandma!! And I wanted it to show all the joy of a child with all the love of a grandmother....This picture just tells it all!!

Skinny book arrival!

My Skinny Book arrived yesterday and I am in awe of all the wonderful work that went into this book both by the artists and by Christie.....If you are a visiting artist, please find the page on this blog that you have in your book and leave me a note if you will.....I would LOVE to know the homes that they went to, and I would love to hear from everyone....This book was so worth the wait...

House Number

Once again in my haste to get things from my mind completed I neglected to take a picture of the raw elements that went into making this house plaque!! Got to love the Muse that just needs to get into the paint!! This piece started out as a raw piece of wood cut in the shape of a house, and a tin bird that was once a garden ornament that was only silver! So, with a vision and with paint I have made a plaque to go on a home of people I adore!! The writing at the bottom says..
"Life is better at the beach..." and I will be wrapping and sending this soon...Now, lets hope they don't visit this site so the SURPRISE element is still there!! LOL....This was great fun to work on and is filled with love for my friends....

Stepping Into Erin's Garden

This project is now completed and will be picked up tomorrow....The title of this is:
Stepping Into Erin's Garden and is a colorful place where a child will be able to step
and use this stool to reach that which is higher than she!! My hopes for these stools
is that they stay with the child forever....As a reminder that things are never beyond
